McInerney, Donald P. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016, at his home, with his wife at his side. Don passed away after a lengthy illness, at the age of 78 years. Donald Patrick McInerney was born April 5, 1938, in Saginaw, the son of the late Bernadine (Black) and Arthur McInerney. He graduated from St. Andrew High School with the Class of 1956. He retired from General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, after 32 years of service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Fr. Davey Knights of Columbus Council #8808. He was a founding member of the James Township Fire Department and was a Trustee with the James Township Board for 32 years. He served as Lieutenant of the Sheriff Posse, retiring in 2013. He was a founding member of the James Township Polish Falcons. He showed Arabian horses and enjoyed hobby farming, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He married Susanne A. Hart at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church on October 3, 1959; she survives him. He also leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Patrick Flory, and twin grandsons, Jacob and Sean Flory, all of Saginaw; his Godson, Brian J. Warrick, Chicago; two brothers, one sister and their spouses, Richard and Lucy McInerney, Coleman; Geraldine and Kenneth Socha, Saginaw; Daniel and Bonnie McInerney, Merrill; several nieces, nephews, and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Thomas and Ernestine Hart. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, where a parish vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Family and friends may then call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
