VAN WAGNER, Donald Gayle II of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home with family members by his side, on February 7, 2020 at age 54. Donald was born June 10, 1965 to his parents Marie Edith Bauer (Durante) and Donald Van Wagner.
Donald is survived by his loving Husband, Len P. Weigandt, and his parents Marie (LeRoy) Bauer and Donald (Goldie) VanWagner. He is also survived by his brother John (Joni) Van Wagner, sister Doreen (Tom) Middleton, sister in-law Marcie (Ron) Mielke, brother in-law Dan & Lyn Weigandt and his special family members his nieces, Mandi Jo VanWagner, and Karly L. (Kyle) Twining and a nephew Kyle A. (Breanna) Mielke. He will also be missed by loving family members Rich and Kathy Sue Van Wagner and Richie and Dawnaven Van Wagner. In addition, there are many other loving surviving nieces and nephews.
Donald loved his wonderful neighbors Jennifer, Brent, Aubrey and Tobias Faubert. Uncle Donald often took care of Tobias, Donald was so proud of his little buddy. Uncle Donald will always be with you and watch over you Tobias and Aubrey!
Donald and Len shared a wonderful life together for over 17 years. Donald and Len grew up together on Piper Street in Carrollton, MI and many years later were reacquainted and began their life together. They were married at Niagara Falls, NY on August 13, 2013. Donald was a cherished family member and loving Husband. Although Donald faced many health challenges throughout their time together, they truly enjoyed their lives together. In addition to Len, Don loved his many dogs throughout his life, currently Champ, 17 years old and Cozi, 4 years old. Donald enjoyed spending time with family at his lake house on Bass Lake in National City, MI. He was always the cook at the lake house and made sure everyone had delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Donald loved U of M teams, specifically the ups and downs of the football team, Go Blue!! (Go Green as we were a house divided!)
Donald loved the many Holidays throughout the year, especially Christmas. He was known for his over the top decorating both inside and out, cooking and being together with family and friends. He worked for many years and made many friends at the Carrollton Country Club also known as Hecks Bar. He had a special working relationship with his cherished boss (and former teacher) Harold Campau. He had much love for his Saginaw, MI friends: Sheila Wizner, Maureen Burns, Jeff & Becky Tobias, Leo & Gary Bosserdet and Roger and Dawn Delgado. Donald had so many friends, family members, hobbies and activities, which he loved, but far too many to list. Donald adored his departed grandparents Nana Katherine and Papa John Durante, Lawrence and Leona Bauer and Ernest and Delores Van Wagner.
Honoring Dons wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join the family for a remembrance ceremony at the Saginaw Wesleyan Church, 2125 Shattuck Rd., Saginaw, MI on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Bob Tibbits will officiate. A procession will follow to Eastlawn Memorial Gardens where Dons remains will be placed for final resting. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a tribute in the care of the family for Dons medical expenses.
