Donna Jeanne Semro of Angleton, Texas
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend went home to be with the Lord, with her family faithfully praying and singing at her bedside, on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at CHI – St. Luke’s Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was 78 years old. Donna Jeanne Klement was born on November 30, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Augustin V. and Ruth (Borchard) Klement. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith as an infant, forever uniting her with Christ throughout her life. Donna was a proud 1962 graduate of Michigan Lutheran Seminary. Following graduation, she met the love of her life and soulmate, Rev. Ronald A. Semro. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on August 28, 1965; he survives her. The role of her entire existence was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Donna had one of the most generous, selfless, and kindest hearts this world has ever known, especially with children. She loved all children as her own, regardless of their circumstance or situation in life, and used her skills as a mother to make every child feel special, loved, and priceless. Donna used her understanding of children to become the official daycare provider to anyone in need, family and friends alike. A faithful pastor’s wife, she was a longtime member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. Throughout the years she volunteered countless hours as an Assistant Kindergarten teacher and Vacation Bible School and Sunday School Teacher. Donna’s little piece of heaven was simply spending time with her family. When she wasn’t doting on her grandchildren, Donna enjoyed playing board games. A truly beautiful spirit, she will forever be remembered for her compassion to anyone in need, for her faithfulness to the Lord, for making all people feel welcomed and loved, and for living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Rev. Ronald A Semro; four children: Becky (Jon) Conde; Jonathan (Susan) Semro, Timothy (Heather) Semro, and Elizabeth (Steven) Patterson; nine grandchildren: Jason (Elissa) Mann, Laura Semro, Daniel Semro, Benjamin Semro, Nicole Semro, Mark Semro, Rachel Semro, Wyatt Patterson, and Baby Patterson; one great-granddaughter, Scarlett; three sisters and one brother: Gerald (Cheryl) Klement, Ruth Ann (Sam) Izzat, Bonnie (Mike) Schultz, and Karen (Sparky) Thomas. Also surviving are many treasured and cherished nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5250 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Jacob Kempfert will officiate. Honoring Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Early Childhood Ministry in Saginaw, Michigan. Please share your thoughts and memories at the church or through www.casefuneralhome.com
