Donna Jo LaBeff of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 59 years old. Donna Jo Stevens was born on December 1, 1964, in California to the late James Henry and Irene Lee (Ostrander) Stevens. She was a proud 1983 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Following graduation, Donna worked for Clark Gas Station on Michigan, Hollywood Video, and the Washington Society Bingo Hall. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. As a young lady, Donna enjoyed swimming, reading, and going to play Bingo. What she loved the most was going to the casino, especially Soaring Eagle, and playing poker with her family. Often the life of the party, Donna would often laugh saying "the party wouldn't start without her!" She had a beautiful personality and could talk to anyone, often making friends with them before the conversation was over. She will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, the connections she shared with her dogs and cats, and for loving to spend time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters: Amber (Jeremy) Randall of Saginaw; Ashley LaBeff of Saginaw; one granddaughter, Maci Chavarrez of Saginaw; three sisters and one brother: Bonnie Dutcher of Saginaw; Kathy (Robert) Girardin of Grayling; Marie (Jack) Walter of Bay City; Dale Stevens of Beaverton; and a special aunt, Peggy Capobianco of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, aunts, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Irene Stevens; brother, Bill Stevens; and a great-nephew, Joe Propp. Honoring Donna's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Donna's life will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI, 48603. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the National Breast Cancer Association.
