Donna Lois Turner Hemlock, Michigan
Passed into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 15, 2017, age 94 years.
She was born March 12, 1923, daughter of the late John G. and Emma B. (Rau) Hensler, in Freeland. She married Edward Turner Jr, April 24, 1948. They were together 50 years. He predeceased her on April 11, 1998. Donna was a hair stylist after graduation from Arthur Hill High School. She was a FAITHful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hemlock, where she served on the Mary Martha, school lunch program, the Ladies Aide, Sunshine Seniors, the crafters and quilters group. She also sold Hillcraft Jewelry for the bazaars. It was said she made the best dressing for the church's Chicken dinners. She was a member of the ceramics club where she went from ceramics to china, painting many beautiful articles. Donna was a volunteer worker ending as a day manager at Bethesda Thrift Shop for 20 years. She enjoyed people watching and camping in God's great country. She always could find the humor in anything. She has one son and three daughters. Dearaine (Edwin R) Gubbins, Burt; Galen (Diane) Turner, Coleman; Chandra (Daniel) Weiss, Frankenmuth; and Janell (Thomas) Seaver, Saginaw; 11 grandchildren: Brandon (Amanda), Scott (Chelsea) Gubbins; Melissa (Kirk) Woerner, Laura (Scott) Bell, Teresa (Nick) Aris; Stephanie Weiss, Jeffery (Sarah) Weiss, Marsha Weiss; Garrett Seaver, Cortland (Chelsea) Seaver, Tyler (Rachel) Seaver; ten great grandchildren: Aiden, Alexander, Blake, Caleb, Dimitri, Zachary, Eliana, Avery, Mariah and Gavin, along with many dear Hensler and Turner nieces, nephews and their families, who attended the 62 years of the John G. Hensler family reunions and the Edward Turner Sr. Family Reunions. She is predeceased by three brothers, seven sisters and their spouses, Agnes M. (Al) Klein, Clarence, Clemens G. (Edna), Amelia A. (Gustave) Sparschu, Marie C. (Ernie) Ludlum, Edna E. (Al) Buetow, Thelma L. (Hugo) Lorhmann, Rhea A. (Dick) Grass, John H. (Mildred) Hensler, Zona A. (Gerald) Beeman. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Road, Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Peter Lutheran Church and/or school or a charity of donors choice.
