Donovan E. "Sonny" Morgan

Morgan, Donovan E. "Sonny" Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare at the age of 82 years. The son of the late Donovan R. and Marion Alice (Horton) Morgan was born on February 16, 1932 in Saginaw. He married Bonnie Lou Esler on November 10, 1951; she predeceased him on December 30, 2011. Sonny worked for Lufkin Rule, Western and Southern and retired from Allen's Shoes. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Sonny enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing card games, traveling, painting, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed table top shuffleboard, and even made the Michigan Shuffleboard Hall of Fame. Surviving are two children and their spouses: Michael (Maxey) Morgan, Penny Sue (John) McLaren, three grandchildren: Dustyn Morgan, Whitney (Kevin) Morgan, Morgan Sue McLaren, his siblings: Marie Loiselle, Wayne (Sharon) Morgan, sisters and brothers-in-law: Virginia Morgan, Janet (Arthur) McIntyre, Gary (Marie) Esler, Linda (David) Mitchell, a special friend Donna Fobear and many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Sonny was predeceased by a brother John Morgan and a brother-in-law Roy Loiselle. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd. Rev. James Neumann will officiate with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
