Doreen E. Schuetz

Doreen E. Schuetz Sparta, MI formerly of Saginaw Passed away November 25, 2016, at the age of 91 years. Doreen was born April 24, 1925, in Carlisle, England to the late Henry and Teresa (McNichol) Buchanan. She met the love of her life, Emil Schuetz, while he served in England during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. They married June 22, 1946; he predeceased her in 1981. She was proud of her Scottish Heritage and being a member of the Buchanan Clan. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church until her illness prohibited her from doing so. She is survived by her children, Diane (Denny) Niederstadt, Beverly (Reggie) Simpson, Gary (Cheryl) Schuetz; grandchildren, Alisa (Greg) Staude, Jennifer (Brian) Nichols, John Simpson, Savannah, Dakota, and Hunter Schuetz; great-grandchildren, Natalia, Kiera, Andres, Lucas, and Xander; sister-in-law, Joyce Buchanan; and she will be sadly missed by her longtime Scottish friend Joyce Collins. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Buchanan and Harry (Mary Agnes) Buchanan. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 808 Weiss with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
