Dorothea S. Greenwood Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the age of 100 years. The daughter of Wilhelm and Anna (Fischer) Feuerhelm was born September 18, 1915 in Thomas Township. On September 21, 1935 she was married to Edward J. Greenwood. He predeceased her October 19, 1998. Dorothea was an excellent cook and baked the best tasting bread in the county. She loved the farm life and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for whom she spent many hours babysitting. Among her hobbies were gardening, quilting and doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed the company of her dog, Missy. Dorothea was a long time member of St. John XXIII Parish. (St. Mary of Hemlock) She leaves her children, Edward (Jan) Greenwood, Merrill, MI and their children, David (Sue), Cadillac, MI, Daniel (Janet), Midland, MI, LouAnn Melton, Fountain Inn, South Carolina, great grandchildren, Bryan, Anthony and Renaye Greenwood, Jeremy, Joshua and Jeffrey Greenwood, Alan and Timothy Boulay, and Ryan Melton; a great great granddaughter, Aidyn Boulay. Karen Chapin (Ronald ), Hemlock, MI and their children, Chris (Jennifer) Saline, MI, Jennifer Chambers (Tim), Simpsonville, SC, Mark (Pam) Chapin, Hemlock, MI, Jannine Soldan(Dave) McKinney, TX, great grandchildren, Ryan, Katie and Cara Chapin, Amanda Chambers Dalton (Travis), Nicholas, Nicole and Jacob Chapin, MacKenzie and Kirstin Soldan, a great great grandson, Cameron Dalton; William Greenwood (Diane), Saginaw, MI, and their children, Michael (Theresa)and Melissa, great grandchildren, Britanie, Derek and Jazmine Greenwood; Loretta Oldenburg (James), Saginaw, MI and their children, Becky Thompson( Fred) Bay City, MI, and their children, Nathan of Sterling Heights, MI, Erin rivard (Grant) Freeland, MI, Sue Reno (Matt) and their children, Tyler Reno and his fianc, Sandy, Bridgeport, MI, Dr. Kelsey Reno, Chicago, IL, James Oldenburg, Thomas Oldenburg (Sandy) Swartz Creek, MI and their children, Adam, Bradley and Zachary, Kevin Oldenburg (Kalli) Hemlock, MI and their children, Emily and her fianc, Steve Schmidt, Evan, Noah and Grace; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three infant granddaughters, Mary Oldenburg, Janie Greenwood, Marie Chapin, a great grandson, Ronny Chapin. She had outlived all her siblings, Carl, Emil and Edward Feuerhelm, Julia Neuenfeldt, Elsie Jakes, Caroline Bell, Charlotte Bell, Mildred LaBelle and Elda Esmer. The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary of Hemlock. Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday where a parish vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may then call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
