Dorothy Agnes (McPhee) Erskine Hemlock, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on May 11, 2013. She was born December 28, 1928, in St. Charles, Michigan, the daughter of the late Archie and Ella (Lange) McPhee. She married Red Erskine on September 17, 1949. He preceded her in death February 8, 2005. Dorothy was employed by the Hemlock Public School System for 20 years and was highly regarded for keeping the office running smoothly. She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Hemlock and was involved in many different ministries within the parish. Surviving are her children, Dave and Roberta Erskine of Freeland, Beth and Denny Wills of Ionia, Janine and Richard Darling of Midland, Marilyn and Rocky Thompson of Allendale, Karen and Scott Freeman of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren Kyle and Jodi Erskine, Wendy and Jim Baty, Amy and Jason Gole, Dan Turner, Jason Ryal, Krista Darling, Nicole and Ben Howdyshell, Andrew Darling and fianc Melodi Baker, Amanda and Dr. Aaron Thatcher, Craig Thompson and fianc Dr. Emily Cross, Paul Freeman and Emily Freeman. Her happiest moments were spent enjoying time with her grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Kathryn Schrems, Margaret Hart, Don and Mary McPhee, in-laws, Wesley and Mary Erskine, Delores and Duane Aelick, Mary Jane Erskine, Harold and Marlyn Erskine and Lorraine Erskine. She was predeceased by brothers-in-law George Schrems, Frank Hart, and Duane Erskine. Dorothy also leaves many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Saint Mary Catholic Church Hemlock. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L Case Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw from 2 pm to 8 pm Wednesday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
