Keenan, Dorothy Eleanor Merrill, Michigan Passed away peacefully on May 25, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Violet (Filley) Dengler. Dorothy was born in Saginaw on July 10, 1933. She was a graduate of Saginaw High, Class of 1951. On April 19, 1952 she married the dark haired dream of her life, Daniel (Mike) Keenan. They met at the Saginaw County Fair through 4-H. Together they created many fond memories with their friends, sister and brother-in laws. Mike predeceased her on October 15, 1980. In her earlier years Dorothy loved to snowmobile with her family and friends. She had her own Arctic Cat Panther. Dorothy was an excellent bookkeeper for Keenan Welding. She was an avid listener to the "Listen to the Mrs." radio program as her family received many delicious recipes and household remedies from her. She enjoyed cheering for the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan State Spartans and watching the Saginaw Fireworks every 4th of July. She was a loyal wife, mother, and grandmother and modeled a legacy of strength to her four married children: Laura (Keenan) and Leonard Breasbois, Mike and Debbie (Corbat) Keenan, Shelly (Keenan) and Mike Foy, and Karrie (Keenan) and Wayne Hanson. She also leaves eleven grandchildren: Jennifer Murray, Summer Knepper, and Clint Breasbois; Dan Keenan, Shaun Keenan, and Katie Olson; Michael Foy, Samantha Foy, and Patrick Foy; Levi Hanson and Kelsey Hanson; and five beautiful great-grandchildren with a sixth one expected soon. Dorothy is survived by two sisters: Judy (Dengler) and Tom Crampton; and Joan (Dengler) and Richard Schultz; and one sister and two brothers who predeceased her: Mary (Dengler) Naessens, Don Dengler and Jim Dengler. Dorothy also has one brother-in-law: Sam Naessens and one sister-in-law: Dorothy Dengler. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merrill. Fr. Duane Wachowiak will officiate with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, Merrill from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 9:00 p.m. where a vigil will be held at 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service.
