Dorothy Esther Fulton of Saginaw
Beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Brian's House in Essexville. She was 90 years old. The daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Asmus) Specht was born on June 25, 1932, in Hemlock, Michigan. She married Wayne E. Fulton on June 8, 1962; he preceded her in death on April 29, 2014, and together they now stroll over heaven. She worked for Anderson Steak House for 23 years and at Bringer Inn for 12 years, where she was delightfully known as the "pie lady". The role of her lifetime was to be the most loving and devoted wife, mom, and grandma she could be. Dorothy was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed taking trips to the casino, and working with her Diamond Dot Paintings. Her little piece of heaven was baking and created her famous cakes, pies, cookies, rock candy, and peanut brittle for family and friends over the years.
Surviving are her children: Sally (Rich) O'Connor of Chesaning; Don (Gail) Vogler of Au Gres; Ann Vogler of Saginaw; Steven (Lynne) Fulton of Saginaw; and Lynn (Pete) Rios Jr. of Saginaw; and 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Vogler; a great-granddaughter, Onna Fulton; a great-great-grandson, Charlie Dankert; brothers: Henry Edward Specht, Sgt. Wilford G. Specht, Victor Specht, Adam Specht, Edward Specht, and Raymond Specht; sisters: Rosemary Specht, Leah Specht, Clara Specht, Bertha Zittel, and Avis Town.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and caretakers at Select Specialty Hospital, Covenant VNA, and Brian's House for all the love and care they provided for Dorothy and the family.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Richard Mundt will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian's House. Please share your thoughts and memorials with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
