Dorothy J. Chapin

Chapin, Dorothy J. Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Muskegon, Michigan Passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Cartwright Care Center at the age of 94 years. Dorothy was born on November 24, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of G. P. and Grace (Humpheries) Kennedy. Dorothy graduated from Muskegon Senior High School, the class of 1936. She married Marvin T. Jorgensen in 1940; he predeceased her in May 1969. Dorothy retired from Lumberman's Bank in 1971. She then married Merwin H. Chapin in 1971; he predeceased her September of 1999. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club, Beta Sigma Phi, Red Cross Grey Ladies, T.B. Sanitarium volunteer, and Hackley Hospital Circle volunteer and started the Hume Home Auxiliary. Surviving are her children; Roger (Jennifer) Williams, Jerry (Mert) Chapin, Ronda Fisher, Wendy (Billy) Anderson, 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister; Patricia Helen Kennedy. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is planned for later this summer. Arrangements by W. L.
