Passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, March 12, 2021; at the age of 85 years.

The daughter of the late Raymond and Marie (Jones) Hickmott, Dorothy was born on August 16, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Howard Rivers, on February 15, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan; he preceded her in death on July 1, 2016. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, jigsaw puzzles, making crafts, traveling and making wonky quilts with her daughter, Sue. Dorothy also cherished the time spent with her friends and family.

She is survived by one son and two daughters: Howard (Monika) Rivers Jr., Sue Rivers, and Nancy Little; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister: Rose Wheeler and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Hickmott, Kenneth Hickmott; and four sisters: Lillian Broom, Bessie Moore, Mary Lou Payea, infant Carol Hickmott.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional staff and direct care workers at Birch Run Fields Assisted Living and The Care Team Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of Dorothy.

Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2021 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw. Chaplain Dave Gerber will officiate with burial at Cook Cemetery, Taymouth Township. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral chapel. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone's efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community.
