Friedl, Dorothy Lila (Wendzik), beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on January 9, 2019 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born October 10, 1940 to the late Harry & Helen (York) Wendzik of Birch Run. She married Jon Friedl and moved to Clio and as a homemaker raised three children who survive her, Jon Friedl Jr., Juanita (Friedl) Coutcher and Jacqueline (Friedl) Oswald. After her children grew she worked for many years at the Clio Convalescent Center. Upon her retirement she divorced and moved to Ames, Iowa to be near her son whom was obtaining his Ph.D. She enjoyed Iowa very much and loved the small quiet town. After several years she moved to Saginaw to be near her two daughters and two of her grandchildren. She enjoyed rummage sales, gardening, knitting, and time with family and her two cats, Lily and Mary. She was a great cook; close family will cherish memories of her homemade bread, sloppy joes and fried hamburgers to say the least. She was a hard worker all her life, always fulfilling the needs of others before herself. She loved her grandchildren and their spouses dearly, Shelley Taddei, Jessica Coutcher and Sara (Cody) Frost. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren who made her smile endlessly: Aiden Frost, Mia Coutcher, Jaxson Coutcher, and Scarlett Frost. Dorothy was predeceased by her oldest sister, Barbara (Wendzik) Mock and two nephews Michael Prince and Todd Wendzik. Dorothy is survived by three siblings and their spouses, Harry "Bud" (Sally) Wendzik, Carolyn (Richard) Weston and Richard "Rick" (Janet) Wendzik. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Bill Mock and many aunts and cousins. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider a donation in her honor to the American Heart Association www.heart.org. A celebration of her life will take place with Pastor Ted McCulloch officiating on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 5:30pm at Case Funeral Home at 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Friends are welcome to visit with family at the funeral chapel from 3:30pm-530pm.
