Loving companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on November 18, 2021 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 67 years.
The son of the late Duaine and Wanda (Clayton) Olson was born in Saginaw. He grew up in Freeland, MI. Doug was self-employed as a carpenter. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and travel, especially spending winters in Floridia with Beverly. Doug loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his companion of 33 years, Beverly, his son David A. Emeott, step-son Kurt D. (Melissa Uhl-Krauss) Lovett, his grandchildren: Lincoln Emeott, Jacen Emeott, Addison Emeott, and Lauren (Victoria Grogan) Lovett, Justice (Mercedes) Lovett, great-grandchildren: Brieanna Hiser, Troy Hiser, Skylar Lovett, Kayden Lovett, Isaac Grogan Lovett, his siblings: Kathy (Jim) Miller, and Ross (Dawn) Olson, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Craig Olson.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Maurice Horne of First United Methodist Church of Hazel Park will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the funeral chapel from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service. In honor of Doug, please wear your motorcycle attire. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice Angels Foundation, 5889 Bay Rd. Suite 103, Saginaw, MI 48604 or the First United Methodist Church of Hazel Park, 315 E. 9 Mile, Hazel Park, MI 48030.
