Dr. Hoon (Peter) Jeung, M.D.

Hoon (Peter) Jeung M.D. Bay City, Michigan Passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at Covenant- Cooper. Age 75 years. The son of the late Kyu Hwan Oh and Yun Sik Jeung M.D. was born May 18, 1939 in Kangwondo, South Korea. He married Yunhee (Maria) Shim, September 28, 1967. She survives him. Dr. Jeung was educated at the Korea University Medical School and served with the South Korean Armed Services. He came to the United States in 1970 and practiced in Cass City, Michigan from 1976 until 2002. He was a member of the Somang Korean Church of Saginaw. Dr. Jeung enjoyed golf, gardening and participated with the Billy Graham Evangelistic World Mission, going to Africa to practice medicine four times. Surviving besides his wife are two sons and their wives, Andrew and Lori Jeung, Clarkston, MI; Jeffrey and Jill Jeung, Farmington, MI; six grandchildren, Hanna, Emily, Kate and Luke; Laurel, Emma and a granddaughter, Annie, to arrive in October; one brother, five sisters, many nieces and nephews, living in Korea. A brother has predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Somang Korean Church of Saginaw, 3879 Kochville Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Eldred L. Kelley will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev.
