Duane “Butch” Dijak of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 75 years old. Duane Dijak was born on March 23, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Paul and Delores (Schultz) Dijak. He attended Arthur Hill Tech High School. Duane married Gwendolyn (Campbell) Neigh in April 1985; she preceded him in death on April 12, 2015. He was employed as a machine operator with Arrow Paper for 40 years until his retirement. Duane was a lucky man most of his life and used that luck to take trips to the casino and buy scratch-off lottery tickets. Though he could be stubborn, Duane would do anything for his family. He treasured and cherished his grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter and two sons: Michelle Currey of Gagetown; Michael (Tricia) Dijak of Bay City; Bryon (christa) Fassone of Saginaw; six grandchildren: Katie Fassone, Emily Currey, Rebecca Dijak, Jakob Dijak, Nicholas Fassone, and Rose Currey; two sisters and two brothers: Jona Walbert of Lansing; Dennis Dijak of WV; Matthew Dijak of FL; Susan (Kirk) Dijak of Portage. Also surviving are Gwendolyn’s brothers and sister, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Dijak; parents, Paul and Delores Dijak.

Honoring Duane’s wishes cremation has taken place. Private interment will take place at a later date.
