Eckart, Dwyne W. Saginaw, MI Passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, at Covenant Hospital at the age of 82 years. Son of the late William and Lenora Eckart, Dwyne was born April 16, 1931, in Martin, North Dakota. His wife, Patricia M. (Collison) Eckart, whom he married November 6, 1992, survives him.
Dwyne worked at Baker Perkins as a machinist. He then hired into General Motors, Grey Iron Division, where he worked until his retirement in 1991. Dwyne was a member of VFW #1566, Eagles #497, Polish Falcons #124, and Moose Lodge #82. He was an avid motorcycle rider. He and his wife, Pat, were members of AMA, Tri-City Travelers Riding Club and they rode together throughout the United States (visiting 48 states) and Canada. Dwyne was known for his easy-going, fun-loving nature and his always present sense of humor.
Dwyne is survived by his five children, Patricia L. Eckart and her partner Jan L. Kokas, Dwyne & Cheryl Eckart, Matthew J. Eckart, Lenora J. (Eckart) Woods, and Ellington (Duke) & Karla Eckart; his step-children, Jean (Collison) Macordes, Michael & Anita Collison, Greg & Gillian Collison, Thomas & Jan Collison, William & Mary Collison, Kevin & Barbara Collison, and Gary & Donna (Collision) Gareiss, to whom he was especially close. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss his wit and wisdom. Dwyne was predeceased by his sisters Joline Ecker and Jaqueline Day, and his granddaughter, Cheri M. (Eckart) Kalnbach. Funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the W. L. Case Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate.
