Earl Robert Weathers

Earl Robert Weathers, age 73, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 28, 2024. 

Earl was born on May 3, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of the late Sidney Earl Weathers and Mary Catherine (Simon) Weathers. Earl was a proud graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School, class of 1970, where he formed lifelong friendships and memories. Earl served in the National Guard, exemplifying his commitment to his country and community. He worked as a machine operator for Saginaw Steering Gear, a role he held with pride until his retirement in 2001. His strong work ethic was complemented by a passion for hobbies such as woodworking, NASCAR, hunting, and fishing. Earl took great joy in caring for his yard, often spending hours tending to it with the same dedication he placed in all aspects of his life.

Earl is survived by his son, Robert Joseph "R.J." Weathers and his wife, Jennifer; grandson, Ethan Weathers; sister, Cathy Noonan and her husband, Timothy; four nieces, Heather Nevarez and her husband Jason, Schuyler Noonan, Courtney Landreth and her husband Jason, and Amanda Collins and her husband Chris; several great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Earl Weathers and Mary Catherine (Simon) Weathers. His legacy will live on through the love and memories he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, where friends may gather with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate the service. Following the service, military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by American Legion Post #439.
