Edna Anna Penny

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Age 102 years. The daughter of the late William and Henrietta (Volkman) Gath was born July 22, 1913 in Saginaw County, Michigan. She married Ray F. Penny, October 14, 1931. He passed away May 26, 1984. Mr. and Mrs. Penny engaged in farming. Edna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Marion Springs and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Leona Winterstein; Donna Milbrandt, both of Hemlock, MI; Marvin (Mike) Penny and his wife, Marlene, Merrill, MI; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Dennis and Marlo Albaugh; Danny and Robin Albaugh; Connie and Scott McCullough; Susan and David Cole; Kenneth and Frances Albaugh; Jay and Irene Milbrandt; Debbie and Andrew Bailey; Todd Penny and his fianc, Jackie; Shawn and Darin Griffore; Chad and Holli Penny; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a dear family friend, Mary Lichtenfelt. She was predeceased by two sons-in-law, William Albaugh, Lester Winterstein; four brothers, Frank, Walter, Ed and Harry Gath, and two sisters, Rosie Bucholz and Hattie Keintz. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church, 12140 S. Merrill Rd. Brant, MI. Rev. Tim Behnke will officiate with burial in Lakefield Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and then at the Church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service.
