Edward L. Bremer St. Charles, MI Passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, with his family by his side at St. Mary's of Michigan at the age of 92 years. Edward was born November 4, 1923, in Saginaw the son of the late Cora Mae (Turner-Pronoveaux) and Edward C. Bremer. He was a proud veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army during the Pacific Campaign. He married Donna E. Rudy on June 18, 1977; she predeceased him. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merrill. He served many years as an usher. He retired from General Motors where he worked skilled trades. He was known throughout Saginaw County for playing his harmonica and accordion. He was also an avid gardener having great pride in his tomatoes. He enjoyed many years hunting and fishing with his brother Leon and others. Edward loved his movie outings with Charles and his nephew Robert. He is survived by his beloved brother, Charles B. Bremer; step-grandchildren, Jeff Robnolte, Michelle A. Sheldon, Laurie A. Fischer; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-daughter, Suellen Roese; siblings, Carl Bremer, Hank (Dorothy) Bremer, Marion "Toots" (Frank) Rehmann, Virginia Rehmann, Leon (Shirley) Bremer, Helen "Sis" Leachman, Therese (Ed) Rehmann, Evelyn (Darrell) Hohisel, and baby Irene Bremer; and sister-in-law, Florence Bremer. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church where military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 7302 of Hemlock/Merrill. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friends may visit with the family at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Road on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will gather at 7:00 p.m. for a prayer service. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
