Efrosine (Yia Yia) Triantafillou Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and aunt passed away peacefully on, May 9, 2013. She was born May 10, 1913 in Krokelio Dorithos, Greece, the daughter of the late George and Panayiota (Zographou) Sakarellou. She married Efthemios C. Triantafillou, May 9 1937. He preceded her in death May 16, 1984. Efrosine was a founding and life-long member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Society. She loved her garden, cooking Greek food, crocheting and sewing, interacting with the public in the family businesses, but most of all, her family. Surviving are a daughter, two sons and their spouses, Mary (Kennedy) App; Gust (Martha) Triantafillou; George (Jean Farrington) Triantafillou; her grandchildren, Andrew (Debra) Kennedy; Robert (Mary Pat) Kennedy; Glen (Roxanne) Kennedy; Daniel Triantafillou; Nicholas Triantafillou; her great grandchildren; Paul (Jennifer), Mary Grace, Sean, Elizabeth, Maclaine, Jackson, Emmett and Scout Kennedy; her great great granddaughter, Lillian Kennedy; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Thanasis and Mitcho Sakarellou; two sisters, Maria Sakarellou Varso and Leta Sakarellou Asiki. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4970 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Irenaeus Cox will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the Church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
