Gaertner, Eileen C. (Kwaiser/May) Bridgeport, MI Passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the age of 92. Eileen Kwaiser was born February 21, 1921, in Bridgeport the daughter of the late Max and Blanche (Pawelezak) Kwaiser. She was a life-long resident of Bridgeport. She married George May on November 25, 1936, in Saginaw; he predeceased her August 11, 1969. She then married Joseph W. Gaertner on September 4, 1971; he predeceased her on August 9, 1997. She was of the Catholic faith. Eileen enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, Polka dancing, the Detroit Tigers. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her 4 sons, 2 daughters and their spouses, Nancy and Michael Giltrop of Gladwin, James, Robert, Thomas and Sue, Steve May all of Bridgeport, Sally Mikula of Rose City, daughter-in-law, Zelmar May; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; 3 sisters, Helen Weitz, Maxine Rakowski, Betty (Nelson) Miracle; her brother, William (Carolyn) Kwaiser of Washington; brothers-in-law, Martin May and Clarence Gaertner. Besides her husbands and parents she was predeceased by a son Gerald; a daughter, Jacqueline; one grandson; one great-great-grandson; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The family extends a thank-you to all Eileen's wonderful caregivers at Regional 7 and Southern Care Hospice. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Hwy. Mary Ann Cherry will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
