Elaine A. Vasold

Elaine A. Vasold Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Francis Home. Age 92 years. The daughter of Matilda (Struntzer) and John Quigley was born May 16, 1924 in New York. She married Walter H. Vasold, December 22, 1945 and moved to Michigan shortly after her marriage. Walter passed away September 9, 1992. Elaine was a graduate of Pratt Institute. She was a great cook and homemaker. She enjoyed making jam and canning, was an avid bird watcher, rock collector and liked to go fishing. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Kathy Vasold and Kathy's sister, Karen Sims, whom Elaine treated like a daughter; two grandchildren, Brian Vasold and Kay Shufeldt and her husband, Jason; three great grandchildren, Tyler and Ethan Vasold; Jaxon Shufeldt. Her son, John, passed away in 2009 and her daughter, Barbara, passed away in 2015. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Sr. Marie Markel I.H.M. will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
