Elaine Alma (Lyvere) Lorince

Elaine Alma (Lyvere) Lorince, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 17,2019 at the age of 89 at her home in Hemlock. Elaine was born October 12,1929, in Brant, Michigan, to the late Herman and Hattie (Meyer) Krenzke. She was a 1947 graduate of Hemlock High School. Elaine married Eugene J. Lorince on November 13,1982 and resided in Sanford, Michigan. Elaine was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock, Michigan from her youth and for several years at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Midland, Michigan. She enjoyed singing in the choir, served as head cook for many years at St. Peter Lutheran School while her children also attended the school, and served on many school and church committees. Elaine retired from the Michigan Department of Social Services in 1992. Following her retirement, she volunteered for many years at WELS Lutherans for Life in Saginaw, Michigan and served as a volunteer at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midland, Michigan. Elaine and Eugene returned to Hemlock in 2013 to be closer to her family. Her life was dedicated to her Savior, her church, her family, and to those in need. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Elaine was predeceased by her 4 sisters and their spouses, Frieda (Walter) Zimmerman, Theresa (Albert) Bohn, Marie (Melvin) Tessin, Lillian (George) Mueller, and her 2 brothers and spouse Harold (Delores) Krenzke, and Donald Krenzke and a grandson Kameron Lyvere. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Eugene Lorince, her children, Greg Lyvere, Jeanette (Thomas) Wardin, Gary (Kathy) Lyvere, Daniel Lyvere, Darrell Lyvere, Kevin (Lucy) Lyvere and her two step daughters Lori Powell and Darlene (Vernell) Kosnick, 17grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place Tuesday January 22, 11:00 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Hemlock, Michigan 48626. Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate with burial at Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday January 21, 3:00 to 8:00 pm at W.L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Tuesday at church.
