Elaine D. Harris (Anaman), 81, passed away October 7th, 2018. She was born on August 4, 1937 in Hemlock, Michigan, the seventh child of the late Wilhelm and Wilhelmine (Cypryk) Anaman.
A dedicated wife and mother, Elaine is survived by her husband Al Harris, and daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Tim Burns and their children, Luke and Mackenzie Burns. She was preceded in death by her brothers Walter, Edwin, and Donald and sisters Esther (Nothelfer), Eleanor (Furlo), and Elsie (Szabo).
Elaine enjoyed fishing, dancing, camping and cards. She was a woman of faith, dedicating her life to her church and church family. Elaine spent many hours supporting the Ladies Aid, the school and other programs at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Hemlock, Michigan.
The family thanks the caregivers who helped Elaine: Wendy Heinrick, MariKay Spatz and Gail Burdo; her nieces Joy Kaufmann and Val Gaus, her nephew Danny Nothelfer. We are grateful for the endless support of all of her neighbors and friends: Bob and Judy Spitz, Larry and Sharon Rood, Tim Schroder, Bob Gilmour, John and Connie Sivey, Don and Cheryl Hayes, and Harold Hare. We are especially thankful to the staff at Union Court Assisted Living and Heart to Heart Hospice who brought comfort to Elaine during her last days.
Funeral Service will take place 12:00 noon, Friday. October 12, 2018 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 2290 Pretzer Road, Hemlock, Michigan. Rev. Phil Bigelow will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives between 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service.
