Eleanor Jane Meyer

Eleanor Jane Meyer Saginaw, Michigan Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully Sunday, January 31, 2016. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Sparks) Meier was born September 15, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan where she was a life-long resident. She married Adam Meyer Jr, October 19, 1940. He passed away March 3, 2006. Eleanor graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1938. She was employed by Woolworth's and later became a bookkeeper for her husband's painting business. Eleanor loved to sew, making Easter Dresses for the Salvation Army and quilts for her church. She also loved to bake, especially Christmas cookies, which everyone enjoyed. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Surviving are a son, a daughter and their spouses, Raymond and Deborah Meyer; Carole and Gregory Jaski; six grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher Adam Meyer; Kerri Ann Meyer; Matthew Adam and Rachel Meyer; Justin Michael Hayes; Andrea Susan and James Hess; Kris and Amity Astorp; six great grandchildren, Harrison and Brennan Meyer; Ashlin, Isaac and Elijah Hess; Addison Astorp; several nieces and nephews. Five brothers and sisters have predeceased her. The funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ken MacGillivary will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
