Elizabeth Ann (Cavenaugh) Wachner Bridgeport, Michigan

Our beloved, Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother passed away Thursday July 22, 2021. She was 86 years old. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Needham) Cavenaugh. Elizabeth (Betty) was born July 4th, 1935 in Washington D.C. and moved to Saginaw in 1942. She attended SS. Peter and Paul High School. She married Ronald N. Wachner on March 21, 1953. He was the love of her life and survives her. They raised three children together. Elizabeth enjoyed shopping, dancing, getting into mischief with her sister (Mary) and most of all spending time with her family. She was a school bus driver in the Bridgeport School District until her retirement in 1993. Ron & Elizabeth were members of St. Christophers Church.

Also, surviving Elizabeth are her daughter, Debra Lown, Saginaw; her son, Ronald Wachner Jr, and Deborah Lalonde, Birch Run; Daughter-in-Laws, Vickie and Terry Sharon, Saginaw; Brenda Wachner, Vassar, eight Grandchildren: Heidi and Justin LaMontagne, Clio; Tracie Wachner, Tennesee; Caroline and Robin Paugh, Tennessee; Jamie Wachner, Tennessee; Ronda & Richard Howey, Tennessee; Joshua Wachner, Tennessee; Jason Wachner, Vassar; Breonna Wachner, Vassar; nine Great Grandchildren: her brother-in-law Dale & Sara Wachner, Arkansas; her sister-in-law Debra & Mark Stabek, Saginaw and several nieces & nephews.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son Randy Wachner, her sister Mary Alice Lutz, two brothers Harry Cavenaugh Jr. and Robert Cavenaugh; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Caroline & Norman Wachner; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.

If we ever needed a person to talk to or help with anything, you could always count on her support and guidance. She was very special to all of us and we will miss her dearly.

The Wachner family would like to thank the staff at Wellspring Skilled Nursing facility and Hospice in Frankemuth for the comfort and care they provided for Elizabeth during this difficult time.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 29, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd. Saginaw Michigan, 48601. Rev. Fr. John Mancini O.S.F.S. will officiate with burial to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.
