Elizabeth (Betty) Arlene (Poling) Lamping
Age 81, went home to be with Jesus on April 17, 2021, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida.
Betty was born on April 15, 1940 in Warren, Michigan, to the late Everett and Theodora (Payne) Poling.
She graduated from Fulton High School in 1958 and from Olivet Nazarene University in 1964.
On December 23, 1966, she married Danny Lamping. She was raised on a farm in Sumner, Michigan and lived in Carrollton, Michigan as an adult. She taught at many schools throughout the Saginaw area, was an adjunct faculty member at Delta College, and drove for SOS until retiring in 2008. Elizabeth was an active member of Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene. Elizabeth will be remembered for her compassion, heart for missions, generosity, hospitality, and passion for children and teens, along with her cooking, especially her homemade macaroni and cheese.
Survivors include her husband, Dan, of 54 years, two daughters and a son, Danette (Mike) Bliss, Saginaw, Kim (Dean) Doane, Flushing, and Parker Lee Lamping, Grand Rapids, along with seven grandchildren, Mikayla, Brianna, Zachary, and Mackenzie Bliss and Derek, Chloie, and Shaylyn Doane, and two brothers, William Poling, Port Charlotte, Florida, and Robert (Marcia) Poling, Dillon, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Melvin, and three sister-in-laws.
Services will be held at Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Tittabawassee, on Tuesday, April 27, at 11:00 am. The funeral service will be live streamed. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Saginaw. Relatives and friends are welcome at W.L. Case funeral home on Mackinaw from 2:00 – 9:00 pm on Monday, April 26 and then at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. Memorial contributions may be given to the Empowered Youth Ministries at Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, with special appreciation for those that took care of her on floors 7D, 5B, and 3D for the extraordinarily good care they gave to our Wife, Mother, and Grandmother during her stay there.
