Elizabeth Margaret Guthrie

Elizabeth Margaret Guthrie Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Toni and Trish House. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Agnes (Zahn) and August Hatzke was born March 11, 1929 in Hemlock and was a lifelong resident. She married Thomas Guthrie, June 17, 1950. Her husband of 67 years survives her. Elizabeth was employed by Hemlock Public Schools, retiring as Head Cook. She was a member of St. John XXIII parish, St. Mary in Hemlock Church. She enjoyed her family, being a homemaker and working in her yard and garden. Surviving besides her husband, Thomas, are a daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Mike Mazar; A daughter-in-law, Lori Guthrie; three grandsons and their wives, Anthony and Deedra Guthrie; Gregory Guthrie; Christopher and Missy Mazar; five great grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Anton and Margaret Hatzke; She was predeceased by a son, David Guthrie. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary in Hemlock Church, 151 St. Mary Drive, Hemlock. Rev. Dennis J. Kucharczyk will officiate. Friends may call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Toni and Trish House or St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary in Hemlock Church.
