LICHTENWALD, ELIZABETH (MEIER) SAGINAW, MI
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grand mother and Great-great grandmother passed way Wednesday July 16, 2014 at the age of 93 years. Elizabeth was born on August 21, 1920, daughter of the late John and Matilda (Seeley) Roesler. She married Henry Meier, he predeceased her July 16, 1962. She later married Alexander Lichtenwald, which they had celebrated 51 years together. Liz worked at Dailey Pickle Company for 38 years, retiring in 1977. She enjoyed time with family and having the annual Christmas Eve dinner for over 50 years at her home. She enjoyed Bingo in her earlier years, ceramics, and playing cards. She loved her casino trips in which she celebrated her 90th birthday there. Surviving besides her husband is her daughter Karen (William) Zinck of Merrill. Her son Leroy Meier preceded her in 2012. Her daughter- in- law Sandra Meier is surviving as well as her Grandchildren, Marti(Rick) Risk, Tracy Francetic, Charlene Samson, Diane(Don)Counts and Carolyn(Steve) Gwisdalla; 13 Great-grandchildren; 5 Great-great grandchildren; Brother Jack Roesler, Brother- in- law Chuck Smith, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her sisters, Eva, Emma, Margaret, Pat and sister- in- law Ella Roesler. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the W.L Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM and then on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
