Ellen Elizabeth Boyse

Ellen Elizabeth Boyse Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully in Saginaw on Sunday, June 5, 2016. She was born in Saginaw on July 25, 1915, the oldest daughter of Harry T. and Hazel Dent and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1933. Ellen married John Wesley Boyse also of Saginaw on September 18, 1938 and shared 49 happy years with him before he died in 1987. Mrs. Boyse lived in Saginaw most of her life. She leaves three children and their spouses, Dr. John W. Boyse and his wife Georgia, Royal Oak, Michigan; Dr. Peter D. Boyse and his wife Barbra, Salem, Oregon; and Mary Ellen Doty and her husband William, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Two sisters, Bethney Heilborn and Donna Bergtold, predeceased her. She also leaves five cherished granddaughters and their spouses, Kyla Boyse (Scott Peacor), Heather Grzemkowski (Phil), Kristine Stinson (Chad), Cassandra Wolanin (Michael), and Marla Martel (Jason). Mrs. Boyse also leaves 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Boyse was a Circulation Librarian at Hoyt Library in charge of the main desk and city registration for 21 years and retired in 1976. After retirement she volunteered for the READ program and at Covenant Hospital. She was active in Saginaw First United Methodist Church and was privileged to be a member of the committee that chose members for the Saginaw County Hall of Fame. Mrs. Boyse was secretary of the Saginaw chapters of People-to-People and the University of Michigan Alumnae Association. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday June 10, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd, Saginaw. Rev Kathryn S. Snedeker will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
