Elmer George Hensler Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, May 6, 2016. Age 90 years. The son of the late William Charles and Mary Cora (Wegner) Hensler was born August 15, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Patricia Waara, June 26, 1954. She survives him. He served with the Michigan Army National Guard. Mr. Hensler engaged in farming. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He served on the Freeland School Board, enjoyed the out-of-doors, and loved to play euchre. Surviving besides his wife, Patricia, are three daughters, three sons and their spouses, Marilyn and Mark Newsted, Traverse City, MI; Jeanine and Daniel Mong, Littleton, CO; William and Jeanette Hensler, Holt, MI; Alice Stech, Algonquin, Il; Edward and Sarah Hensler, Freeland, MI; Norman Hensler, Freeland, MI; 15 grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Daniel Newsted; Mackenzie, Connor and Monica Mong; Kelly (Stech) Habbley, Mitchell, Faye Stech; Jonathan, Tobias, William, Jakob and Peter Hensler; Graham Hensler; two great grandchildren, Lia Newsted and Sawyer Habbley. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Hensler. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Saginaw. Rev. Paul Hinz will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co.
