Elsie Carol Mead Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Covenant-Cooper. Age 52 years. The daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Catherine Naomi (DeCaire) LaCross was born December 11, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Jimmie Mead, December 17, 1979. He survives her. She had been employed by Michigan Community Services, retiring with 20 years of service. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband, Jimmie, are three daughters, one son, Melissa Mead-Doran; Theresa Mead; Jimmie Mead Jr; Nicole Prieur and her husband, David; three grandchildren, Aneisa, Tessa and Ivy; three sisters, two brothers, Betty Shelswell; Marge Blackmer; Michael (Sally) LaCross; Howard LaCross; Vickie and Jim Okoniewski; her mother-in-law, father-in-law, John and Lois Mead; several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. A son-in-law, Thomas Doran, and a brother, Robert Thomas LaCross Jr. has predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Chaplain Joe Atchinson will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
