Elwyn F. Tank (Al) Frankenmuth, Michigan Went to meet his maker on June 7, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Age 86 years. Elwyn was born May 11, 1929 to the late Fredrick and Thressa Tank in Snover, Michigan. He graduated from Sandusky High School, Class of 1947. He worked in farming and county road work before becoming employed by General Motors, Chevrolet Grey Iron and later by Saginaw Steering Gear Plants 1, 2, 3, Power Room retiring on July 31, 1987 with 34 years of service. He served with the U.S. Navy from January 3, 1951 to November 9, 1954 (Pacific) on the USS Essex CV9 (boiler gang). He was a member of the American Legion Post #439; the V.F.W. post # 2725; a Korean War Vet Plank owner at the Korean War Memorial July 1995. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorthey (Dot); 4 daughters, Gail Tank; Lori and Kim Matzke; Pam and Neil Miller; Sandy Tank Paten and her special friend, Dan; an ex-son-in-law, Bruce Paten; his grandchildren, Chadwick (Breck) Paten; Dannielle (Brandon) Paten; three great grandsons, Cole, Carson and Bryson; a step-granddaughter and her husband, Tanya and Myles Benton; a step-grandson and his wife, Randy and Brenda Matzke and their children, Madison, Sarah, Autumn, Taylor and Megan; a brother and his wife, Eugene and Pat Tank, Sandusky, MI. In accordance with Mr. Tank's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
