Koza, Emil Saginaw, MI Passed away at Aleda Lutz Veteran's Hospital on January 23, 2014, after a brief illness at the age of 93. Emil was born July 28, 1920, in Akron, Ohio to the late Peter and Anna (Ferko) Koza. He came to Michigan at the age of four. Emil served in the U.S. Army for 3 years in the 120th Infantry and he also fought in Germany. After he was discharged from the Army he returned to Saginaw. He worked for Saginaw Steering Gear until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Helen Munson on October 1, 1949; she predeceased him January 8, 1985. He attended State Street United Methodist Church and Ames United Methodist Church both in Saginaw. He liked all sports and enjoyed fishing and doing picture puzzles. Emil is survived by his sister Blanche Juhasz; many nieces and nephews; and his caretakers, Roger and Deb Krawczyk. He was predeceased by his son David; two daughters Christina and Mary Lynn Koza; a sister and brother-in-law, Anna (Elmer) Fetting; brothers, Steve, Peter, John, and Daniel (Emily) Koza; in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Munson; and brothers-in-law, Andrew Juhasz and Hugh Munson. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with military honors under the auspices of VFW Post #1859. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Aleda Lutz V.A.
