Enrique B. "Henry" Sanchez, Sr.

Our loving father, grandfather and brother went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 17, 2019. Age 91 years. He was born on July 15, 1927, son of the late Francisco and Catalina (Barsenas) Sanchez, in Mercedes, Texas. Enrique married Olga Medina on April 20, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. She predeceased him on May 23, 1998. He served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII Veteran. Enrique retired from General Motors in 1993, after 41 years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local 668. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, V.F.W. Post #7302 and the Knights of Columbus, Merrill. He enjoyed playing cards, dominos, BINGO, vegetable gardening, traveling to visit family and spending time with his family. He will be missed by his children Gloria Sanchez, Enrique "BeBe" Sanchez, Jr. Carlos (Cynthia) Sanchez and Esteban "Steve" (Roxanne) Sanchez; his daughter-in-law, Kelly Sanchez; his grandchildren, Alejandro Sanchez, Andrea (Todd) Donsang, Estella (Charles) Laster, Elizabeth (John) Sanchez-Bain, William Princinski, Antonio, Catarina and Roberto Sanchez Jr., Kip (Angie)Turner, Stephanie (Jeff) Wagoner and Valerie (Kevin) Connor; great granddaughter, Riley; his sisters and brothers, Felipa, Reyes, Candido, Raphael, Joseph, Beatrice Sanchez, Nona Mincy and Isabel Stroik; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Roberto Sanchez, Jr, his daughter, Cathy Sanchez, his daughter-in-law, Orlinda Sanchez, his brother, Rufino Sanchez and his sisters, Juana Rodriguez and Candida Muniz. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 419 S. Midland Road, Merrill. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
