Eric Warren Santhany passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 17, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He fought with dignity and grace. Eric was born November 14, 1952 in Valdosta, Georgia. Although, he lived most of his life in Saginaw, Michigan. Eric graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1971 and was dedicated to his career with AT&T as a Customer Service Technician for 38 years. Eric married Sue in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on August 2, 2000. He retired early at age 58.
Eric enjoyed biking, walking, and playing computer games. His favorite pastime was exploring new restaurants and going on road trips with his wife Sue. He cherished the time he spent with all of his children and grandchildren at their birthday parties, sporting events, dance recitals, and First Communions. Eric was so proud of each and every one of them.
Eric is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Santhany, who stood by his side through the many joys and challenges of life. His family meant the world to him; he was always a proud father of his two daughters, Rachele (Amado IV) Arceo, Erica (Charlie) Hatchard, and three step-daughters, Kristin (Chris) Scheel, Melissa LeMay, and Lindsay Pittwood. His love extends to his eleven grandchildren, Amado V., Zachary, and Valerie Arceo; Faye and Flynn Hatchard; Andrew and Madeleine Scheel; James and John LeMay; Carter Pittwood. Eric will also be loved and missed by his three siblings Martin (Mary) Santhany, Elise Santhany Hodgins, Irene (Butch) Ronan; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Claire Santhany, nephew Brian Santhany and grandson Camden Pittwood.
As we remember Eric, let us live by his motto to always move forward, and not look back. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
The services to honor and celebrate Eric’s life will be held on Saturday, October 5th at Hopevale Church; 4873 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Family and friends may gather for the visitation beginning at 10:00 am with the memorial service following at 12:00 pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements entrusted with W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors.
