Laurenz, Ervin M. Saginaw, Michigan
Went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Marie, on Sunday, January 31, 2016, age 87 years. He was born on December 17, 1928, son of the late Arthur and Mary (Anaman) Laurenz, in Saginaw. He married Marie Warnemuende on January 29, 1955, she predeceased him on October 30, 2005. He served in the National Guard and retired from Baker-Perkins after 36 years of service. He was a member of Saginaw Valley Community Church and later Abundant Grace Ministries. He was an ordained minister and served as Chaplain with the Saginaw County Jail. Ervin was an avid rifleman winning numerous awards and was a lifetime member of the Saginaw Gun Club, Bay City Rifle Club and Gilford Gun Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He will be remembered for always being loving and encouraging to his family and church family.
Surviving are his daughter, Brenda (James) Crowl, Montrose; his son, Mark Laurenz; his grandchildren, Rachel (William) Siddock and Michael Crowl; his nephew, Duane Campau; his nieces, Joyce Reinke and Jill Larkin. Besides his wife Marie and his parents, Ervin was predeceased by his son, Charles Laurenz; his daughter, Sherri Laurenz; his sister, Esther Campau; his brother, Herman Laurenz; his nieces, Diane and Karen.
Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Doug McIntyre will officiate. Honoring Ervin's wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
