Passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Symphony Tri-Cities. Age 88 years.
The son of the late Adeline (Storch) and John Sollner was born December 7, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and served with the U.S. Navy.
He married Marilynn J. Munger, January 5, 1957. His wife of 65 years survives him. He was employed by the Saginaw News for 38 ½ years. He was a member of Family Baptist Church.
He enjoyed tending his yard, woodworking and rockhounding. Mr. and Mrs. Sollner previously spent winters in Florida.
Surviving besides his wife, Marilynn, are two sons and a daughter, Paul (Cathy) Sollner; Janice Sollner; David (Irene) Sollner; four grandchildren, Christina (Pete) Steiler; Elizabeth Sollner; Ellice (Hudson) Clark; Kurt Sollner; Emma Sollner; two great grandchildren, Violet Steiler and Julian Sollner; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Two sisters, Betty Hamm and Marilyn Lopez have predeceased him.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Stanley R. Dulaney will officiate with burial in Bliss Cemetery, Northern Michigan, later in the spring. Friends may visit with family at the chapel from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. www.casefuneralhome.com
