Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully on April 26, 2020 at home at the age of 86 years.
Esther Ann Manchester was born on November 28, 1933 in Saginaw to the late Andrew J. and Flavy R. (Scoville) Manchester. She married Robert Richard Hickson on June 6, 1957; he preceded her in death on August 20, 2004. Esther had attended the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed the outdoors, animals, flower gardens, baseball and watching the Price is Right. Esther cherished time spent with the family and friends and her beloved cat, Midnight.
Surviving are one son and three daughters: Steven Hickson, Karen (Dale) Staal, Rebecca (Gary) Weaver, Tracy (John Villarreal) Hickson, seven grandchildren: Jeremiah (Kelly) Berger, Josh (Stacie) Berger, Ater (Scott) Grondman, David (Heather) Berger, Jamie Weaver, Khrystyn Scott, Junior Villarreal, many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her sister-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Esther was predeceased by five brothers, four sisters and a great-granddaughter.
Due to the worldwide health crisis, a private funeral service will take place on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. David Ward will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens to follow. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a Dementia Foundation of choice.
