Esther Barbara Hartwig

Hartwig, Esther Barbara Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Stonecrest Assisted Living, age 99 years. Esther was born in Frankenmuth, Michigan September 3, 1913 the daughter of the late George and Mathilda (Naegle) Poellet. She married Arthur A. Hartwig September 15, 1940. He predeceased her September 19, 1999. Esther was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling. Esther is survived by three daughters, Ardith J. (Lawrence) Akers, Greenbush, MI, Nettie L. Medendorp, Decatur, AL and Donna J. Karas, Saginaw, MI; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jason and Greg Akers, Michael and Brandon Karas, Leslie Hansen, Barry Medendorp, Billie Wilson; 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lucy Hartwig December 3, 2000; four brothers, Elmer, Edwin, Hilbert and Arnold; two sisters, Lillian and Linda. The funeral service will take place 12:00 noon Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Rev. Paul Hinz will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. and Thursday at church from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service.
