Eugene Lazarz

Lazarz, Eugene Saginaw Township, Michigan Our loving father and grandfather passed away, with his family at his side, Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare at the age of 85 years. Eugene was born August 16, 1928 in Bay City, Michigan the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Soltos) Lazarz. He married Marjorie Loiselle September 30, 1950. She predeceased him February 14, 2005. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Council No. 4232. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from General Electric after 25 years of service. Eugene was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting with his son and grandchildren. He served on the National Ski Patrol. Eugene is survived by three children, Diane Wolf, David and Jennifer Lazarz and Susan and Steven Christiano; four grandchildren, Amanda and Michael Christiano, David and Katie Lazarz; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Steve; three sisters and two brothers, Julia, Edward, Delores, Frances and Marion. A memorial service will take place 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Friends may visit with the family at church from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service. A celebration of his life will be held at Apple Mountain immediately following the service at church.
