Eva M. Kelly

Kelly, Eva M. Bridgeport, Michigan The Lord called her from home on Friday, March 10, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Age 88 years. Eva Mae was born April 21, 1928, in Hemans, Michigan, to biological parents, Michael and Marcela (Ciechowicz) Schwartz, and adopted as an infant by her parents, Gilbert Ray and Mary (Guy) Fifield. She graduated from Hillman High School in Hillman, Michigan, with the Class of 1947. Eva was married to Robert J. Kelly on June 12, 1948 in Saginaw; he passed away on November 12, 2008. Eva worked as secretary/receptionist for Bridgeport Community Schools, retiring in 1988. Eva loved cooking for everyone, sewing and quilting, gardening, and camping. She enjoyed traveling, including a trip to Europe. Winters were spent in Florida for a number of years, and she loved visiting family and friends across the country. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was active in Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, serving on numerous boards and teaching Sunday School to the handicapped. Surviving are her children, Sharon (Thomas) Borchers, Daniel (Susan) Kelly, Cindy (Bill) Flint, and Debby (Steve) Brothers; grandchildren, Jill Borchers (Dave Haar) and Aaron Borchers, Patrick Kelly (fiance Stacey Wiechec), Lesa (Todd) Laws, Bonnie (Mike) Cochrane, Mary Flint (Charles Lutz), Bill (Ashlie) Flint, David (Heather) Brothers, Sarah (Tom) Reyes; 8 great-grandchildren, Breanna Perdue, Jacob Cochrane, Conner Cochrane, Owen Lutz, Emma Lutz, Kyle Lutz, Fisher Flint, and Katy Kelly; one sister, Helen, who will turn 100 years old in July; one brother-in-law, Raymond Kelly; several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary, Martha and Ann; two brothers, Joseph and Gary; and one granddaughter, Katie Kelly. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, where her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Rev. Carol McCleary will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
