Eva Martinez Samaniego

Samaniego, Eva Martinez Saginaw, Michigan Went home to be with the Lord, with her family at her side on Thursday, February 11, 2016, age 79 years. She was born on August 26, 1936, daughter of the late Domitilo and Guadalupe (Almager) Martinez, in Harlington, TX. Eva married Jesse M. Samaniego, Sr. on November 23, 1952, he predeceased her on March 13, 2000. She was very family oriented and enjoyed making crochet dolls and Halloween costumes for her children. Her grandchildren were "the loves of her life." She was true to the quote "though she be little, she is fierce!" Surviving are her sons, Jesse and Fernando Samaniego; her daughters, Eva Mansfield, Mary Samaniego, Esther (James) Sadenwater and Elizabeth Zechmeister; her grandchildren, Marcus and Jonathon Mansfield, Phillip Sadenwater and Kayleigh Zechmeister; her brother, Jose (Anna) Martinez and her sister, Lucia Borrero. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Guadalupe Martinez. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St., Pastor David Dietzel will officiate with burial in Oakwood cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road on Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Saginaw County Humane Society.
