Eva Zestos
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Eva Zestos of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10th. She was 91 years old. Eva was born on November 5th, 1930 in Miles City, Montana to Greek immigrant parents, Nicholas and Panayiota Stumpos. In 1950 she married the love of her life, John D. Zestos, who precedes her in death. Together, they ran many restaurants in the Saginaw area including: Johnny’s Chick-Inn, Howard Johnsons, Johnny’s Bonanza and Zestos Family Dining. Her hard work and dedication helped her to become a successful businesswoman. Eva’s kind and caring nature left an impression on all those that she met. She will be greatly missed.
Eva is survived by one brother, Harry Stumpos, and five children: James Zestos, Nick (Debbie) Zestos, Peggy (Rev. Dr. Peter) Bistolarides, Elaine Tambouridis, and Tena (Dan) Mendyk. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored, and nineteen great- grandchildren.
The Zestos family would like to send a special thank-you to her many caregivers throughout the years. Your love and support for Eva did not go unnoticed and we are forever grateful.
Visitation will take place at W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel (4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw) on Sunday, February 13th from 12:00- 4:00 pm, with a Trisagion Service at 3:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (4970 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw) on Monday, February 14th at 11:00 am. Rev. Timothy Cook and Rev.
