Evelyn A. Fordos

Fordos, Evelyn A. Merrill, MI Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister joined her husband Ernie in Heaven on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the age of 80 years. Evelyn was born January 2, 1933, in Merrill to the late Maurice and Evelyn (Siler) Naessens. She married Ernest "Ernie" Fordos on October 11, 1952. He predeceased her August 22, 2007. Along with her husband she engaged in Organic Farming in the Merrill area. She retired from Merrill Public Schools where she was a beloved school bus driver for 22 years. She enjoyed gardening, being outside, and her birds, dogs, and cats. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and would go to all their sporting events. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was involved in various activities through the church. Her family will miss her contagious smile and loving heart. She is survived by her children, Jim (Kenna) Fordos, Debbie (Bob) Watson, Bill (Ellen) Fordos, Donna (Bill Schwieger) Wilson, Rose (Ron) Kube; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Francis Naessens, Ernest "Sam" Naessens, Fr. Philip Naessens, O.F.M. Cap; brother-in-law, William Scott; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Joyce Scott. The family would like to thank Babion Foster Care, and her extended family there, for the wonderful care they provided to Evelyn. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 419 S. Midland in Merrill. Fr. Craig Carolan will officiate with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where the family will pray the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. led by the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Neuman Council #2291. Friends may also meet with the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
