Evelyn A. Enszer passed away on November 29, 2022, at the age of 100 after a long, productive life of good cheer.
She was born on March 27, 1922, the daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Lillie E. (Stevens) Galligan. Evelyn graduated from Saginaw High School; the class of 1938. Her first full time job was an accounting clerk for a Saginaw bakery. On August 30, 1941, she married C. Robert Enszer. They shared 58 years together before his passing in 1999. Evelyn worked at Saginaw Steering Gear’s Gun Plant during World War II. After the war she found work at Lufkin Rule Co. for 8 years then she became a real estate salesperson, later became a licensed realtor. Upon her retirement, besides enjoying extended family she took up bowling, joined card groups, and became a tournament Scrabble playing expert, attending regional and national competitions.
Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, husband, her son, Thomas L. Enszer, daughter-in-law Ruth Kero Enszer, granddaughter Lara D. Enszer, her brothers: Louis, William and Norman Galligan; her sisters: Cora Malone Brasington and Virginia Waltenburg.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons: Robert M. (Rick Farrand) Enszer, Gerald L. (Sallie) Enszer, daughter-in-law Christine Clark Enszer, 8 grandchildren: Julie (Kim) Enszer, Greta, Greg (Julie) Enszer, Heidi (Dale) Workman, S. Timothy (Erica) Enszer, Kathy (Matt) Konieczny, Samantha (Dean) Sisk and Roni (Kimberly) Enszer; 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Page Lacis, special nieces: Debra Maczik, Pariann Peaslee, and Mikki Patterson, special nephews: Victor and William Malone.
