Evelyn M. Geer

Loving aunt and great aunt went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Care Cardinal of Kentwood. MI, at the age of 95 years. Evelyn was born August 17, 1928, in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Lisle and Etta (Young) Geer. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Saginaw for many years, where she worked in the nursery. Evelyn retired from Jacobson’s in Saginaw in 1993, after many years of service in the Infant Department. Prior to Jacobson’s she had been employed by Cooper’s Frame Shop and JC Penny’s.

Surviving are six nieces and nephews; Ray (Pam) Bowerman, Barbara Mitzel, Craig Bowerman, Bradley (Nicole) Eichstaedt, Karen (David) Marcoux, Brian (Amy) Eichstaedt; several great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by three sisters, Marjorie Geer, Bonnie (Raymond) Bowerman, and Rita (Robert) Eichstaedt.

After retirement, Evelyn enjoyed babysitting, working in her yard and around the house, and spending time with her family. Evelyn moved to Wyoming, Michigan in 2020 to live with her nephew and niece, where she enjoyed staying up late watching Fox News, Walker Texas Ranger and Little House on the Prairie. Evelyn was very true to her faith in God and always had great stories and fond memories of her entire family over the years.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Bob Tibbits will officiate, with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the funeral chapel on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
