Filemon "Phil" Jimenez went to be with the lord July 27, 2019 at Bay Shores Senior Care and Rehab Center, Bay City Michigan. God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be. So God put his arms around him and whispered "come with me."
Filemon was born in Chrisman, Texas on March 21, 1932 to the late Benancio and Florentina Jimenez. Filemon was a care giver for his family as a young man who came to Michigan in 1947. He worked for GM Mallaeble Iron and retired after 30 years. Filemon was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Angela of 63 years, and their seven children, Filemon Jr (Debra) Jimenez of Beaverton Michigan, Fred (Norma) Jimenez, Victor and Gary Jimenez of Lubbock Texas, Rebecca Woods, Sandra Jimenez and Cynthia Tinsley of Saginaw. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren as well as his four sisters, Mary Gutierrez of Bay City, Narcissa (Rudy) Enciso of Frankenmuth, Angie Luna of Higgins Lake and Benita (Gary) Gibson of Florida.
Filemon was preceded in death by four brothers, Vincent, Blas, Sal and Victor Jimenez of Texas.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 N. 6th avenue, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris O.F.M. Cap will officiate. Burial will follow service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy you may wish to consider St. Joseph Outreach Ministry.
